Udayana University Holds Second Batch of Independent “Wirausaha Merdeka” Bootcamp to Support the Creation of Young Entrepreneurs
Udayana University held the second batch of the Wirausaha Merdeka Mandiri (Independent Entrepreneurial Freedom) Bootcamp on Monday, May 16, 2025, at the Prof. Ngoerah Room, Faculty of Medicine, Denpasar Campus. The event was attended by 35 students divided into 8 groups to develop business plans and product prototypes to be marketed.
The Coordinator of the MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) Program at Udayana University, Prof. I Ketut Sardiana, explained that the Wirausaha Merdeka Mandiri program consists of three main activities: entrepreneurship learning, internships at MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), and the bootcamp. After being equipped with foundational knowledge of entrepreneurship and observing business processes at four MSME locations, students participated in a bootcamp focused on hands-on practice in preparing business feasibility studies and digital marketing strategies. Three digital marketing practitioners were present to mentor the students throughout the bootcamp.
The final outcome of this three-phase program will be an expo showcasing the students' business product prototypes, scheduled for next month. Prof. Sardiana expressed his hope that students not only gain knowledge in business planning but also learn effective strategies to market their products to the public.
Head of the Student Affairs Bureau at Udayana University, I Ketut Kartika, explained that the program is designed to equip students with entrepreneurial skills so that graduates are prepared to pursue careers as future young entrepreneurs. In addition to enhancing student competencies, the Wirausaha Merdeka Mandiri program also supports the achievement of Udayana University's Key Performance Indicators, particularly in off-campus learning and the development of entrepreneurial mindsets among students.
