Udayana University Karate Club Shines at Airlangga University Karate Championship 2025, Wins 2 Gold Medals and ‘Best of The Best’ Title!

Denpasar, July 3, 2025 - The Karate Student Activity Unit (UKM Karate) of Udayana University (Unud) achieved a brilliant performance at the Airlangga University Karate Championship 2025 held in Surabaya on June 28–29, 2025. The Unud karate contingent won 2 gold medals, 1 silver, 1 bronze, and the prestigious "Best of The Best" award, solidifying their dominance in the national karate competition.

Three athletes became the pillars of victory: Salwa Noor Aisah (Faculty of Engineering) secured the gold medal in Women’s Kumite -61kg, Veyori Yella Salim (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences/Sociology) contributed a gold medal and the "Best of The Best" title in Women’s Individual Kata, while A.A. Gd Wirasatya Putra Pemayun (Faculty of Law) earned the silver medal in Men’s Kumite -67kg. An additional bronze medal completed the success of the Unud contingent.

The UKM Karate Unud coach and supervisor, Dr. Nararya Narottama, SE., M.Par., M.Rech, who directly accompanied the athletes, stated, "This achievement is the result of their discipline and hard work. The 'Best of The Best' title for Veyori proves that Unud karate techniques are nationally recognized. Team synergy and university support were key to this success."

This accomplishment further strengthens the reputation of UKM Karate Unud as a producer of highly competitive athletes. The lecturer from the Faculty of Tourism emphasized his commitment to preparing Unud karate athletes for national and international competitions, reinforcing Udayana University’s contribution to achievement sports.
