Udayana University Holds Oath-Taking Ceremony for Civil Servants and Functional Officials

Udayana University held the Oath-Taking Ceremony for Civil Servants and Functional Officials at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Jimbaran Campus, on Thursday (July 17, 2025). The oath was administered directly by the Rector of Udayana University, involving a total of 123 individuals.

The oath-taking for Civil Servants included 121 individuals from the 2023 Civil Servant Candidate (CPNS) recruitment batch. Meanwhile, the oath-taking for Functional Officials involved 115 individuals, consisting of 113 Functional Lecturers and 2 Functional Education Personnel.

For those of the Hindu faith, a Mejaya-jaya ceremony was conducted beforehand at Pura Dalem Belembong as part of the spiritual preparations. The ceremony was also attended by the Vice Rectors, Faculty Leaders, Bureau Chiefs, and religious leaders representing each faith.

In her report, Head of the General Bureau of Udayana University, Ni Made Pertami Susilawati, SE., MM., stated that the oath-taking for Civil Servants is part of the process of appointing Civil Servant Candidates to full Civil Servants, as mandated by Article 39 of Government Regulation No. 11 of 2017 concerning Civil Servant Management.

Meanwhile, the inauguration and oath-taking of Functional Officials is in accordance with Article 87 of the same regulation. The participation of Functional Officials in this ceremony is also based on Government Regulation No. 11 of 2017 and BKN Regulation No. 7 of 2017.

The participants in this oath-taking ceremony came from various university units: General Bureau: 2 people, Faculty of Cultural Sciences: 6 people, Faculty of Medicine: 32 people, Faculty of Animal Science: 2 people, Faculty of Law: 2 people, Faculty of Engineering: 9 people, Faculty of Agriculture: 7 people, Faculty of Economics and Business: 12 people, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences: 7 people, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine: 7 people, Faculty of Tourism: 9 people, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences: 17 people, Faculty of Agricultural Technology: 5 people, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries: 6 people.

Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D., in his remarks, emphasized the importance of implementing Government Regulation No. 11 of 2017 as amended by Regulation No. 17 of 2020 on Civil Servant Management. This regulation must be enforced to nurture and create a civil service that is clean, honest, neutral, free from political intervention, corruption, collusion, and nepotism, upholds professional ethics, and remains loyal to Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

“The functional position you are entrusted with is essentially a recognition, appreciation, and trust in your competence, performance, integrity, and responsibility in carrying out your duties at Udayana University. With the skills and expertise you possess, you are expected to carry out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education education, research, and community service to the best of your ability,” said the Rector.

He also expressed hope that the lecturers will not only be active in teaching and community engagement, but also diligent in conducting research and publishing at both national and international levels, as a key indicator for academic promotion. Likewise, administrative staff are expected to provide the best, fastest, and most accurate administrative services in support of the educational process at Udayana University.
