Faculty of Agriculture at Udayana University Celebrates its 58th Anniversary and 47th BK, Supports Udayana University's PTNBH Initiative with the Establishment of an Agriculture Hospital

Jimbaran – The Faculty of Agriculture at Udayana University held a flag ceremony to commemorate its 58th Anniversary and the 47th Anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture’s Family Association (BKFP), which took place in front of the Faculty's Dean Building at the Jimbaran Campus on Monday (September 1, 2025).
The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture along with the faculty leadership, Senate members, professors, lecturers, administrative staff, and students.

The celebration, which carried the theme “Together Creating for the Realization of Regenerative Agriculture”, began with a flag ceremony, followed by the presentation of awards to retired lecturers and staff, as well as to outstanding lecturers, staff, and students. Awards were also presented to participants in the Jegeg Bagus competition, logo design contest, and other competitions.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, I Putu Sudiarta, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., stated that this celebration serves as a meaningful moment—not merely ceremonial, but also a time for reflection—given the faculty's long 58-year journey. The founders and previous leaders have laid a strong foundation for the Faculty of Agriculture, but in line with the philosophy of quality assurance, continuous Quality Improvement must be encouraged to further enhance what has been built.

On the same occasion, the Dean also shared updates on achievements in 2025. This year, the Faculty admitted 333 new students. In terms of human resources, there are 99 lecturers and 36 staff members serving a student body of approximately 1,600 active students. The faculty is continuously strengthening its well-established foundations in areas such as administration and documentation. Furthermore, learning and academic processes are being enhanced in line with technological developments and in support of the Rector's policies, particularly in aligning with the Ministry's mandate for Impactful Campuses.

This year, joint practicums and independent internships have been implemented—not just as part of the MBKM (Freedom to Learn - Independent Campus) program, but also to define the qualifications and competencies of graduates in their respective fields. In terms of output, many research results have been utilized by both industry and the community.

The Dean also expressed pride in student achievements in 2025, such as a student from the Faculty being crowned Miss Asia, as well as recognitions like Putri Bumi and Young Ambassador, among other accomplishments. However, the most important aspect is that these achievements have real impacts on society. The Faculty of Agriculture has also established numerous collaborations, including international partnerships.

“As we prepare for Udayana University's transformation into a Legal Entity State University (PTNBH), I believe it is important for us to consider income-generating initiatives. One promising idea is transforming our Plant Clinic into an Agriculture Hospital. We ask for your support, as this Agriculture Hospital could become a major point in developing our income-generating potential,” said the Dean.

A proposal drafting team has already been formed, and it is hoped that the proposal can soon be submitted to relevant strategic institutions. The Dean also expressed his gratitude to all parties who have supported the Faculty of Agriculture.

As part of the anniversary celebration, a ceremonial cake-cutting and candle-blowing was held by the Dean, along with a symbolic release of doves.
