TCI Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University Participates in the China Summer Camp Program 2025

The summer camp program is one of the regular programs held by universities in China, inviting universities from abroad to participate. The Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) of the Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University, which is a collaborative institution at Udayana University partnering with Nanchang University-China, took part in this summer camp program. TCI Faculty of Tourism Udayana University sent 20 participants consisting of lecturers and students. The program lasted for 12 days, from June 29 to July 10, 2025, in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, China. The summer camp was officially opened by the Vice President of Nanchang University on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Widyatmaja, Chairperson of TCI Faculty of Tourism Udayana University, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Nanchang University for once again giving Udayana University, through TCI, the opportunity to participate in the 2025 summer camp program. Furthermore, the Chairperson conveyed that the summer camp program provides benefits and positive impacts for the participants from Udayana University not only in learning the Chinese language and culture but also as a window for participants to observe the developments in the outside world, especially China, by experiencing campus life, technological advancements, infrastructure development, urban planning, and environmental cleanliness up close. He also hopes that in the future, even more participants from Bali through TCI Faculty of Tourism Udayana University will be able to take part in programs like this.

Prof. Wang Li, Vice President of Nanchang University, said in his speech that the Nanchang University Summer Camp is a platform for international students to learn Mandarin and Chinese culture. Additionally, the program is expected to support participants' cross-cultural communication skills, preparing them to face global challenges. Prof. Wang Li also hoped that participants would make the most of this program and view it as a valuable opportunity to understand the real culture and development of China.

During the program, participants from Udayana University had the chance to interact with other international participants, including those from Spain and Russia. Activities were not limited to the campus environment but also included visits to several tourist destinations in Jiangxi Province and an opportunity to visit tourist attractions in Beijing City. As the final part of the program, a closing ceremony was held by the leadership of Nanchang University, marked by the awarding of certificates to all participants in the summer camp program.
