Five Student Organizations from Udayana University Secure Funding for PPK Ormawa, All Expected to Qualify for Abdidaya 2025
Denpasar – Udayana University held a Socialization and Technical Guidance Session for the Preparation of the 2025 PPK Ormawa Work Program on Wednesday (July 23, 2025), at the Wiswakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Denpasar Campus. The final selection results for the 2025 PPK Ormawa proposals were announced at the end of June. The Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) evaluated 365 sub-proposals, from which only 295 titles from 145 universities were approved for funding including Udayana University.
This socialization and technical guidance event was organized to prepare student organizations that secured funding from Belmawa to carry out community service and empowerment programs in designated villages. The session featured three speakers: Prof. Dr. Parmin, S.Pd., M.Pd (Belmawa), Dr. Ir. Ni Luh Gde Sumardani, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM (Udayana University), I Wayan Sadiarna, SH (Village Head of Gunaksa Village).
Dr. Wayan Nata Septiadi, Head of Udayana University's Character Development and Community Service Unit (UPKP), explained that out of the 10 proposals submitted to Belmawa, five student organization proposals received funding. These include: Mechanical Engineering Student Association, Electrical Engineering Student Association, Industrial Engineering Student Association, Environmental Engineering Student Association, Indonesian Red Cross Student Unit (UKM PMI).
Through this program, students receive guidance on strategies to achieve targets and prepare for Abdidaya Ormawa 2025. At the end of the event, Udayana University officially dispatched the five student organizations to carry out their service and empowerment programs in selected villages over the upcoming semester.
Prof. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, stated that the university fully supports and assists these organizations in executing their village-based community programs. He expressed hope that all five teams will also qualify for Abdidaya Ormawa 2025, which will take place at the end of the odd semester in 2025.
Meanwhile, Udayana University Rector, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana, emphasized in his speech that PPK Ormawa is one of the most prestigious national-level programs, offering student organizations a chance to make a tangible impact in empowering rural communities. The program not only strengthens students’ organizational capacities but also hones their leadership, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and solution-based community service skills.
He underlined the importance of technical guidance in ensuring the achievement of program targets and indicators, active community involvement, measurable outcomes, sustainable partnerships, and program continuity. He also reminded participants about the importance of administrative discipline, which plays a significant role in program assessment.
"I urge all participants to take part in this technical guidance with great enthusiasm and seriousness. Time is limited, and we must reach 80% of our targeted outcomes by September 2025," said the Rector.
Over the past two years, Udayana University has achieved significant success in the PPK Ormawa program both in terms of the number of funded proposals and the quality of program implementation on the ground, including awards received during the Abdidaya event. This year, the university aims to achieve even greater results.
During the event, the Rector of Udayana University also symbolically handed over funding assistance, and the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs officially dispatched and entrusted the PPK Ormawa teams to the respective village heads where their programs will be implemented.
